Tourist visas are issued for a period of 60 days on  arrival  at International Airport .

Tourist Visa Fees


1.

First visit, Single entry, for 60 days, US$ 30

2.

Second visit, (within 150 days of the same year), Single entry US$50

Tourist Visa Re-Entry Fees

1.

Single entry: US$ 25

Double Entry US$ 40

Multiple Entry US$ 60

To extent their tourist visas, applicants must pay US$ 30. The visas can be extended for another 30 days.

Once issued, this visa must be used within 60 days after the issue.

Tourists traveling by car must possess a valid Passage de Carnet.

Trekking permits are not required for Everest, Annapurna and Langtang areas  


Business Visa
Business visas, with multiple entry facility, are issued with a validity period of one year and five years. For this purpose, the applicant must approach the Ministry of Industry, Nepal.  Simultaneously, a  visa application must be filed with the Department of Immigration.  Based on this ministry’s recommendation, the department will issue a business visa.

US$ 250 for five years


Transit Visas
Transit visas are issued for a period of 48 hours.

Non-Tourist Visas

Residential Visas
Residential visas are offered to those who wish to stay permanently in Nepal.  This is a multiple entry visa. Visa holders are permitted to travel any number of times into and out of Nepal.

Initially, US$ 200 needs to be paid
It can be renewed, every year, for US$ 100.  
Money/Foreign  currency Information

The unit of the Nepalese Currency is Rupee. One Nepali Rupee is made up of 100 paisa. Nepali Rupee notes come in Rs. 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50, 100,250, 500 and 1,000. Rs. 1 , 2, 5 denominations.  Foreign currency, and traveller cheques, can easily be exchanged at banks or authorized agents.  In Kathmandu banks have money exchange counters, which are quick and convenient.

Mastercard, Visa and American Express are accepted at all major Hotels, Travel Agencies, Restaurants and Stores.  Only the first two though, are currently accepted at banks for money advances.  Now  ATM services are available in Kathmandu and other  major cities of  Nepal.
